**Responsibilities**:

- Planning and scheduling production materials.
- Order placement of production materials, services and equipment.
- Management of open orders to expedite / push out as production schedule requires.
- Price negotiations.
- Supplier Development.
- Assist with inventory control and reduction plans for FGI and Raw Materials.
- Member of the new product development team representing Purchasing.

**Qualifications**:

- Associates degree in Business or equivalent experience directly related to the job function.
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 or more years' experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or another related field.
- Expertise in managing supplier contracts with key suppliers.
- Experience in working on technical products with engineering and new product development teams.
- Experience with purchasing Finished Good products from 3 rd party OEM suppliers.
- Experience with manufacturing processing methods, FDA and ISO quality procedures machine shops, injection molding processes, electronics, sterile disposable medical or biological products.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP and pull material flow systems. SAP is a plus.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills to communicate with all levels of Associates.
- Must be a strong team player and have strong influencing skills with the ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.

Job Description Summary

GPC Purchasing Manufacturing Buyer

What you will do:

The Buyer is responsible for performing purchasing activities for assigned portfolio to ensure a high level of customer service. The role will interface daily with suppliers to ensure that we have procured the right amount of finished goods or materials from the supplier and will mitigate and adjust requirements based on weekly planning reviews from supply planning. The Buyer will operate proactively in identifying supply chain risk. The role will work alongside Supply Planners, Production Schedulers and Sourcing Managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain master data set up in the transactional systems, including e.g. but not limited to: supplier lead time, lot size, MOQ and buyer purchasing group.
  • Communicate forecast requirements to suppliers basing on information from production schedulers and supply planning.
  • Ensure all POs are placed accordingly to purchasing signals and ensure the Order Confirmation from supplier on timely manner.
  • Ensure the exception messages (pull in, push out and cancel) execution and update the system accordingly.
  • Act as the first line of contact with suppliers and provide information based on the current supply requirements, PO changes and quality issues communication / follow ups. Drive meeting with suppliers to review and resolve supply issues.
  • Work and coordinate cross-functionally to support Stryker initiatives and support activities to improve business processes and continuity, materials availability, ensure quality requirements and documentation.
  • Proactively prepare reports and analyze to identify supply gaps and opportunities and drive improvement activities to close them.
  • Represent purchasing function at meetings with suppliers and cross functional departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Materials Administration

  • Manage purchase orders (generate, adjust, expedite) based on MRP, project, and customer needs.

Job Summary
This position plays an integral part in developing and implementing sourcing strategies for the buying desk. Will be responsible for performing spot buys, sourcing events, and project-related activities for direct materials categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete one-time or low-complexity sourcing requests as part of the Procurement Excellence Buy Desk
  • Capture and analyze data using procurement spend analytics tools
  • Work with Market Intelligence team to research and identify potential suppliers for sourcing requests.
  • Perform basic cost and scenario analysis to analyze supplier bids
  • Research potential vendors, develop and complete support RFP for spend less than $1M per annum.
  • Partner with customers to ensure clear requirements' documentation is translated to RFP and contracts as appropriate.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking to inform sourcing strategy.
  • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing delivering with suppliers and record annual P&L savings.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior sourcing generalists on category-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Negotiates pricing and other terms of purchase. manage strategic suppliers w/> $10M and suppliers w/ filed activities.

Quotes materials; procures materials, components, equipment and services at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Expedites and ensures the timely receipt of materials.

Works with engineering and MPM or SCM to recommend new suppliers. Issues RFQs, analyzes proposals, negotiates prices and delivery, issues and/or adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner. Follows-up on orders, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. Negotiates vendor contracts, as appropriate. Follows standard purchasing business processes.

Coordinates/drives purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues.

Develops methods of business simplification for the procurement function. Assists or participates with the development of ISO documents for the purchasing function.

Reviews MRP on a regular basis. Executes and cancels pull ins, push outs and planned orders as prioritized. Identifies issues and escalates as necessary to materials management. Reviews and ensures actions per disposition of ECOs on a world wide basis.

Maintains inventory levels per plan and performs E&Z analysis. Minimizes excess and zero demand inventory. Provides input to management regarding action plans to address long term issues.

Pulls and reads part specifications and engineering drawings. Utilizes knowledge of material types to communicate with engineers and suppliers. Provides feedback to engineering for cost reduction efforts.
