Troubleshooting, diagnosis and installation of the Customer's network equipment and components under the co
- Ordination and direction of the global network management team, including:
Atching cable installation and recovery;
Installing power leads; installing,
Removing or swapping equipment;
Locating and or identifying network circuits and tagging the demark location; providing escort services for Customer Third Party Vendors;
Adhering to onsite HSSE and risk management processes as required to support the GNM, including conducting walkthroughs, work permits, change management, attending safety training; and reporting Incidents; assisting the GNM with an asset register / CMDB support and assist in the troubleshooting and testing network equipment and components, including:
Restarting equipment;
Troubleshooting and patching power cables;
Identifying a switch port location:
Inging key Devices and performing DNS lookups
Troubleshooting, installing, and where necessary removing equipment and/or components; and Assisting with the identification and reporting of communications room environmental issues to the GNM.
Server Infrastructure support as a Smart Hands support model
Activities related to server infrastructure, storage devices, software or hardware located in computer rooms, server rooms at Customer Sites and any other server component where it is required.
Provide H&E
Support in relation to the Server Equipment, including,
For all Sites in accordance with Service Desk or any other team's instructions
And or guidance:
Performing visual checks for hardware failure lights or console error messages,
Disk activity,

power status and hardware labels;
Perform a server reboot (a physical reboot of the Device);
Changing cables and other customer replaceable units, and checking whether
The cable is physically connected to the correct port;
Supporting the deployment or installation of preconfigured Server Equipment;
Deinstalling Server Equipment; and
Dhowing any hardware engineer or third party visitor where Server Equipment is
Located, as required; and
For Sites designated as having a Large Computer Room:
Managing the goods IN/OUT process for equipment being delivered to the Large
Computer Room;
Roviding an escort service for all Customer Third Party Vendors from their
Arrival to their departure;
Agreeing with the Customer an approvals process for access and monthly
Reporting and audit compliance;
Complying with the Customer's audit requirements, security requirements and standards detailing physical access management; and physically powering up or down Server Equipment upon the Customer's request and in compliance with Customer Policies.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
- Design, build, and maintain distributed content and service systems

**WHAT YOU MUST HAVE**
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science.
- **3+ years** of engineering experience building scalable distributed systems

- Ability to learn and understand new technologies/systems quickly.

**Meet the Team**
Engineering Support & Automation is a team in the IT Infrastructure and Operations organization that provides advanced tier II support and automation services to our customers, who are mainly other internal IT operational engineering teams (10+). As a team, we strive to automate as much of this support work as we can and value the ability to identify trends through metric analysis and improve processes. The team generates much of its own planned work in this fashion and will regularly engage in project work with other teams when possible. The team (7) currently consists of (6) resources spread across the US.
**What will you be doing?**
An Associate Engineer's primary focus on the Engineering Support & Automation team is day-to-day advanced support destined for the various internal IT operational engineering teams. This involves a vast range of applications and technologies for which you will be expected to learn over time. Our work requires individuals capable of thinking outside the box to troubleshoot issues and collaborate regularly with other engineering team resources to solve more complicated problems.
It's also our mission to seek out long-term resolutions for repeat issues and to recommend, document, and participate in said resolutions, many of which we will lead and develop. **Minimum Qualifications:**
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
+ Associate degree related to Computer Science/Information Systems and 1-2 years of experience OR equivalent technical working experience (minimum 3-4 years)
+ Experience in an enterprise IT Operations environment, including:
+ Troubleshooting networking devices/connectivity
+ Administering and troubleshooting enterprise applications
+ Administering and troubleshooting Linux/Windows Servers
+ Experience _or_ demonstrated understanding of IT Automation using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, ServiceNow, etc.
+ Passion for documenting technical processes
+ Customer Service background
+ RCA mindset

**Preferred Qualifications:**
Candidates with the following skills will be given preferential consideration **:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems
+ 3+ years of customer-facing support work or technical experience
+ Automation and/or development experience, ideally using Ansible
+ Experience managing Puppet or Ansible platforms, especially combined with experience building, deploying, and managing applications that run on Kubernetes clusters, ideally Red Hat OpenShift
+ Experience with ServiceNow ticket management and reporting
+ Experience with troubleshooting Cisco networking devices and software

**Position Description**
We are seeking a skilled Technical Engineer to join our Remote Resolution Team. In this role, you will provide outstanding technical support to our clients through remote tools. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to software, hardware, and systems. **Roles & Responsibilities**
+ Provide remote technical support and a differentiated customer experience to clients via phone, email, chat, video, or remote access tools
+ Fix and diagnose hardware, software, and network systems issues

+ Maintain accurate and detailed records of all technical issues and resolutions

- Extensive hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco SD-WAN routers using vManage
- Ability to manage and configure Palo Alto firewalls and F5 load-balancers

This position is based in **Costa Rica** , and is part of the **Tools and Automation team** within **Corporate Infrastructure and Security** at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Network operations are evolving rapidly, with automation now at the core of scalable and secure infrastructure. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are leading this transformation by building automated solutions that manage network infrastructure across private data centers and cloud platforms. In this role, you will be instrumental in automating the deployment, configuration, and management of network systems and services-enabling speed, repeatability, and resilience in how our network infrastructure is delivered.
**A Day in the Life:**
+ Automate deployment and lifecycle management of network infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Integrate network platforms with enterprise systems such as ServiceNow and StackStorm to enable automated workflows and self-service operations.
+ Collaborate with network engineers, platform teams, and security partners to gather requirements and implement scalable automation solutions.
+ Develop Ansible playbooks and Terraform modules for automating cloud and on-premises networking (e.g., VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, VPNs).
+ Build and maintain automation pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
+ Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of automation workflows and integrations.
