The position offers a broad exposure to Emerson’s business leaders as well as the corporate strategy, business unit strategies, sales organization, and corporate functions. In support of each of these organizations, the strategic planner is encouraged to provide perspective and analytical support with the end goal of driving progress in the organization. **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be**:
- Support and participate in the business unit Planning Process which will include major management events such as quarterly World Area reviews, annual strategy review, and value creation/growth planning conferences.
- Develop, in coordination with staff, long range objectives and strategic plans by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability including macroeconomic trends, competitors, and market position.
- Analyze adjacent markets and make informed recommendations as to how Emerson should participate (or not participate)
- Work with regional teams to collect market intelligence and trends and build and maintain quantitative model of driven participation in markets and geographies.
- Analyze macroeconomic indicators to track business performance and develop long-range economic models for global business.
- Support leadership team with business development analyses and growth planning.
- Provide monthly financial commentary and industry trends to support Investor Relations
- Participate in the development of analytical tools and dashboards to support the sales organization.

**For This Role, You Will Need**:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 3-6 years of overall experience preferably in Pricing, Statistics, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Accounting with an industrial (business-to-business) company selling configured products.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
- Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills

Review customer files and take appropriate actions in a timely manner
Think creatively both in terms of solutions to complex complaints and process improvement.
Collaborate cross-functionally on root cause analysis and drive resolution of customer issues
Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support

To act as internal support to the vendor business lead to drive profitable market share growth through business planning execution, pipeline management and deep sales floor and customer enablement and engagement.
**Responsibilities**:
- Engages with the Business Unit and/or General sales floor, running desk training, tool training and driving product mind share

They will be in charge of quarterly and monthly P&L reporting, as well as analysis on performance based compensation analysis.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Support the execution of financial planning and analysis processes, projects, and ad-hoc requests as required by the Finance organization by embracing the following responsibilites:
- Lead, supervise and review the preparation of the monthly reports and variance analysis, in a timely manner. Including the use of financial KPI analysis and identifying historical trends that will offer value added insights and help identify key focus areas for management
- Lead, supervise and review the business planning processes and deliverables: forecast, budget, 5 year strategic plan, etc. Deliver driver based presentational outputs for discussion with senior management
- Actively partner with the local, regional and global contacts and communicate effectively with the business to foster good working relationships with the rest of the organization
- Lead and review the development of new reporting solutions and special projects
- Play a key role to proactively lead and evaluate the recommendation and implementations of best practices for enhancements to current processes and reporting, including identifying area’s for productivity and driving the standardization of activities across business planning to harness efficiencies

**Qualifications**:
- Academic background in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or other quantitative field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and analysis processes and modelling, or equivalent. Business intelligence tools, and data science experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal & written English skills
- Detail and data quality oriented and capable to summarize and effectively communicate findings/analysis to senior stakeholder management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, financial modeling and related financial systems
- Advanced analytical decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting concepts
